SHORT TERM TRIPS

Some team members of the Kenya Help Team left to help serve alongside Larry and Francine in Kitale Kenya. We were gone from Jan 15-31 and had the experience of a lifetime!! Our team that went to Kitale were Faith Furgason ,Susanna Furgason,Elaine Stratford, Roxanne Marciski, Kathy Thompson and Jean and John Watson.

The team kept busy as this was a hands-on with the people trip. In the brief time we were there we did these things: visited and helped at 2 schools and 3 children’s homes where we did skits and brought gifts we visited and prayed for locals in a slum, visited a village of a local Pastor and went into the mud huts to pray for peoples homes, held 3 medical clinics for people off the street in which we took care of basic medical needs (including pulling out parasites from peoples feet and toes) and sending people that needed more help to the local hospital, and loved on the street kids of Kitale.

The ladies put together an awesome ladies conference called ‘Beauty on the Inside’ with topics on: Fear, Shame, Love and God’s Purpose for your life. Fifty local women came out for this event. The women loved it and were so receptive. WE taught God’s word, prayed, danced and loved on the women in attendance. We also put together a spa treatment that our team did on the Pastors wives and so much more.......

John was with us along the way helping and being with Larry around town. With John and 6 women, John had his hands full watching over all of us and seeing God’s work was watched over carefully. We truly experienced an adventure and life challenge being with the extreme poor…our lives will never be the same and we all have a lifelong connection with Kenya and the people of Kitale.
